Understanding Bravvo Points: A User Guide

Bravvo's point system is a core mechanic for recognizing achievements and contributing to a positive work environment. This guide explains how points are earned, spent, and managed within the platform.

What are Bravvo Points?

Bravvo points function as a virtual currency. You can earn them for various accomplishments and then spend them in the Bravvo store on "impact actions," which can be charitable donations, personal development activities, or other rewards designated by your organization.

How Points Work:

  • Monthly Allowances: At the beginning of each month, administrators allocate a set amount of points to managers and employees. These points are meant to be distributed to colleagues through recognition.
  • Unallocated Points Reset:  Points not distributed by the end of the month will reset to zero at the beginning of the next month.
  • Distribution Limits: Administrators can set limitations on how many points can be distributed per week or per recognition per day to ensure fair and balanced distribution.
  • Points Visibility: When giving recognition, you'll see your remaining points balance to ensure responsible point distribution.
  • Predefined Point Values: Administrators define the point value associated with each recognition type (e.g., "Thank You" = 5 points, "Good Job" = 10 points, "Exceptional" = 20 points). This ensures clarity and consistency when recognizing colleagues.

Earning Points:

  • Recognitions: The primary way to earn points is by receiving recognition from managers and colleagues. These points accumulate and do not reset at the end of the month.
  • Onboarding & Anniversaries: You may also receive points during onboarding, for work anniversaries, or even birthdays depending on your organization's setup.
  • Challenges:  Successfully completing challenges set by your administrator can also earn you points. These points are added to your balance once the admin validates your challenge completion.

Spending Points:

  • Points Allowance vs. Earned Points:  It's important to understand that your point allocation (points to distribute) is separate from your earned points (points received from recognitions). You cannot spend your allocation points on yourself, nor can you use points received from others to fulfill your own distribution quota.
  • Impact Actions:  Earned points can be spent in the Bravvo store on impact actions chosen by your organization.

Additional Points for Managers and Admins:

  • Awards Programs: Managers and administrators may have additional points budgets through "Awards Programs." These points can be distributed to recognize outstanding colleagues or employees for specific achievements, such as fostering positivity or innovative thinking.

Understanding Bravvo points empowers you to actively participate in your organization's recognition culture. By recognizing colleagues and completing challenges, you can earn points and contribute to a more positive and rewarding work environment.
