Adding Users via CSV Upload in Bravvo

This article guides you through adding multiple users to your Bravvo recognition program at once using a CSV (Comma-Separated Values) file. Uploading a CSV file is an efficient method for onboarding a large group of new team members.

Downloading the CSV Template:

  1. Locate the “Add User” section within the Bravvo User Management portal. (The button's placement might vary slightly depending on your Bravvo version).
  2. Look for an option labeled “Download CSV template” or similar wording. In the image you provided, this option appears below the “Choose File” button.
  3. Download the CSV template. This file will serve as a guide for formatting your user data before uploading it to Bravvo.

Formatting Your User Data:

  1. Open the downloaded CSV template using spreadsheet software like Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
  2. Familiarize yourself with the required data fields within the template. These typically include first name, last name, email address, and desired user role (Admin, Manager, or Employee).  The template might also include optional fields for birthdays and work anniversaries.
  3. Populate the template with your user data, ensuring each row represents a single user.
  4. Important:  Pay close attention to the date format for birthdays and work anniversaries (if applicable).  Bravvo requires dates to be formatted in YYYY-MM-DD (year, month, day) to ensure accurate data processing. For instance,  "2024-05-02" represents May 2nd, 2024.

Saving the File as CSV:

Once you've completed formatting your user data in the spreadsheet software,  be sure to save the file in the correct format for upload to Bravvo.

  1. Follow the specific instructions provided by your spreadsheet software to save the file as a CSV (Comma-Separated Values) file. The exact steps might vary depending on the software you're using.
  2. Typically, you'll find a "Save As" or "Export" option within the File menu of your spreadsheet software.
  3. Choose  “.csv” from the file format options during the saving process.

Uploading the CSV File to Bravvo:

  1. Return to the “Add User” section within the Bravvo User Management portal.
  2. Locate the “Choose File” button (as shown in the image you sent). This button allows you to select the CSV file containing your user data.
  3. Click “Choose File” and navigate to your saved CSV file on your computer.
  4. Once you've selected the correct file, click the “Import” button to initiate the upload process.

Additional Considerations:
  • Import Results and Processing: After initiating the upload, Bravvo will process your CSV file. Bravvo will attempt to import all valid user entries from your CSV file. Any rows containing errors or inconsistencies in the data will not be imported.
  • Import Report: Following the upload process, Bravvo will present a report summarizing the results.
This report will typically include: The total number of lines processed in your CSV file. The number of users successfully imported into your Bravvo program. The number of rows with errors that were not imported (if any).
  • Data Accuracy:  Double-check your CSV file for any errors or inconsistencies in the data before uploading it to Bravvo. Uploading inaccurate data may result in issues with user account creation.

Using the Google Sheet Link (Optional):

The image you provided also shows a Google Sheet link. If provided by Bravvo, this link might offer an alternative method for uploading user data using Google Sheets.  However, the specific instructions for using this method might require referring to the Bravvo Support Portal for an article titled "Adding Users via Google Sheets" (or similar wording) as the process might differ from the standard CSV upload method.

Exporting Existing Users (Optional):

The export option you mentioned likely refers to the ability to download a list of your current Bravvo users as a CSV file. This can be helpful for tasks such as backing up user data or transferring it to another system.  The specific steps for exporting users will likely depend on your Bravvo version, so consult the Bravvo Support Portal for an article titled "Exporting User Data" (or similar wording) for more information.

In Conclusion:

Uploading a CSV file provides an efficient way to add multiple users to your Bravvo program at once. By following these steps, carefully formatting your data, and ensuring accurate date formats, you can successfully onboard a new group of team members and expand your recognition program.
